Follow the trajectory of the weak beam until you arrive at the base of the compromised metal structure. Upon arrival, you will immediately notice a thick power cable that disappears directly into a small underground hole.Before proceeding down into the darkness, it is highly recommended to prepare adequate lighting and basic armaments. Crafting a simple torch will illuminate the narrow tunnel ahead, while a Pebblet Spear provides excellent range for the close-quarters encounters waiting below.
Clearing the Subterranean Pest Threat
As you descend into the dirt cavern, you will find the power line completely covered in aggressive Lawn Mites. These small, red creatures are actively chewing through the insulation, which causes the severe power fluctuations observed at the surface. You must systematically eliminate every single bug attached to the wire to stop the damage.Keep a close eye on the entire length of the cable as it snakes deeper into the underground chamber. Some pests can occasionally get wedged into corners or slightly behind rock geometry, requiring a thorough sweep of the room. Once every mite has been successfully cleared, your quest log will update to indicate the power line is secure.
Securing Extra Hidden Cave Resources
While exploring the depths of this early game tunnel, do not rush back to the surface immediately after defeating the pests. The cave contains valuable Slime Mold Stalks that serve as excellent materials for crafting advanced torches later on. Gathering these resources early ensures you save time on future underground expeditions.
Additionally, look closely at the far end of the cavern to spot a fragile stone wall blocking an auxiliary alcove. Equipping a Pebblet Hammer allows you to shatter this barrier and gain access to a hidden room filled with extra quartzites and pebblets. Collecting these items ensures your inventory is well-stocked for upcoming base-building tasks.
Activating the Mysterious Machine
With the subterranean pests cleared and the power supply restored, navigate your way back up the earthen tunnel to the bright backyard. You will instantly notice the previously flickering laser tower is now emitting a perfectly stable and powerful beam. Walk back to the main console of the Mysterious Machine located near the center of the yard.
Approach the prominent target button on the console and interact with it to activate the system. This triggers a major narrative cutscene involving an unexpected explosion over by the massive Oak Tree. Successfully completing this interaction completes the early repairs phase and officially unlocks your next major destination.
